The artifact that I am using for my subculture is a picture from the groups pow wow that shows a member of the community wearing the traditional head gear and costume that is associated with the group. The reason that I chose this is because when thinking about a Native American Organization the costume that they wore represents what type of Native American they were as long as in some situations their position of authority amongst the other members of the tribe. Another reason that I chose to pick a head dres for my artifact is because it is so prominent in the culture that everyone who participated in the pow wow had one on if they did any dancing. In general I chose this artifact because it is synonymous with many things to do with this culture and means a lot to the culture for many reasons, from tradition to tribal rank.
